The Right Fit Hiring Solution: How Does it Work?

An experienced Right Fit Hiring professional will work with you throughout a five-step process. You will get access to state-of-the-art hiring strategies without having to be an expert yourself. Step 1 – Define:

  Using our proprietary method, we’ll help you go beyond standard position descriptions or buzz words to define the key competencies and performance factors that the job truly requires. This step takes 60 - 90 minutes of your time working with a Right Fit Hiring consultant.

This first step is the most important part of the process.

Step 1 clarifies your hiring target by defining with great precision what person will work best with you, your company and your people. You will validate or invalidate your pre-conceptions about what’s needed in the position and you will consider your own management style, the team your hire will work with, and your company’s goals, structure and culture.

The end product of Step 1, the Right Fit Hiring Scorecard© is not only the cornerstone of the remaining Right Fit Hiring process, but it’s a fabulous tool for appraising and developing your hire(s) during their first 180 days.


Step 2 – Assess:

  We customize a Right Fit Hiring online assessment package for your candidate(s) and manage the entire assessment process from start to finish. Once you’ve contacted your candidates to invite them to participate in the Right Fit Hiring assessment process, there is no other time investment for you.

Once you have notified your candidates, neither you nor your HR staff need to invest any more time until the results are in.

Within 24 hours, we will send out e-mails to each of your candidates with an introduction, instructions and a contact for any technical questions. We follow-up with candidates and give you regular status updates.

Once we receive all candidate responses, we schedule a telephone conference with you to review the results.


Step 3 – Compare:

  You receive individual and comparison reports on your candidates as well as a 45 minute consultation from a veteran hiring consultant on the pros and cons of each candidate. As part of that consultation, we’ll make recommendations for hiring or further fact-gathering.

You will receive a summary report of your candidates’ assessment results several hours before your telephone consultation.

If you customarily do a preliminary and follow-up interview, we recommend that you consult with us between interviews. Clients who are only doing one interview with their candidates, perhaps for lower level positions, should consider doing the assessment before their interview.

A Right Fit Hiring consultant will discuss the assessment results with you, help you compare candidate strengths and weaknesses and provide strategies for further questioning and fact-gathering.

After your consultation, you will receive in-depth reports on all assessments for all candidates.


Step 4 – Verify:

  You receive customized interview questions and interviewing strategies to “dig deeper” into your candidates’ experience, knowledge and “true fit.”

Step 5 – Transition:

  You receive 180 days of free Right Fit Hiring follow-up coaching that ensures your candidate makes a quick and successful transition into your work environment.

This step includes telephone follow-ups at 30 and 180 days, and e-mail follow-ups at 30 and 90 days that include specific strategies to help your new hire integrate quickly.
